Pastor's Corner - October 2006

Rev. Anthony Reese

Greetings

In the beginning was the Logos and the Logos was with Yahweh and the Logos was Yahweh... (John 1:1). The term Logos has traditionally been defined as the Word or more effectively rendered the Tone or Standard. We know that the Apostle John was referring to Yeshua Messiah also known as Jesus the Christ. Jesus' life example set the Tone for how one may choose to experience a relationship with I AM that I AM and also with our fellow earth sojourners and seekers of the one truth. The One Truth that GOD IS ALL THERE IS.

I am Anthony Reese, one of many spiritually colorful and gifted Pastors of the Fellowship of the Inner Light. I am married to Marlena Reese, who is also a pastor of this "Little Church with a Big Heart" as we affectionately call it. Between the two of us we have 6 children and one grandson. I am a Registered Nurse by profession, a Reiki Master, a Spiritual Life Navigator, a Healing Facilitator, and a Melchizedek Priest.

I am currently active on the Pastoral Council and in the past have served as an alternate FIL Board of Directors member. I enjoy reading the Bible and loads of scientific and metaphysical literature. I would like to sincerely express to new and returning visitors to this website, The Fellowship of the Inner Light's very own warm and unique welcome; a Smile, a Handshake, and a Hug. Did you feel that? Well, I meant it.

In autumn the earth kindles the joy and reflection of summer activity and prepares for the rest period of winter. To set the Tone for the beginning of Autumn I would encourage us all to reflect on the beauty of what this season
may offer: Diversity and Transition.

Autumn begins a plethora of transforming colors and textures which represent the diverse perspectives of various religious philosophies, cultural mores, spiritual understandings, and even gender though processes different from our own. The leaves fall to the ground from many trees and the gentle breezes or the sudden harsh wind gusts, lift and whirl adjacent tree leaves together to mingle in discussion until the next catalytic event. This divinely orchestrated opportunity represents advanced souls arriving from other walks of life and experiences to share ideas and debate issues from one moment in time to the next.

Are we spiritually open to consider one another's view about a specific subject, topic or matter?

I know we can be. The Fellowship of the Inner Light has assisted me in realizing an ever-expanding openness to many other spiritual paths and journies. For this I am so grateful and excited about being part of an organization that is inclusive not exclusive and embracive not abrasive.

The autumn season ushers in Jewish holy days such as Rosh Hashana,
Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, and of course, the Islamic holy month of Ramadan culminating to Eid ul-Fitr. These holy days mark a designated period of time of prayer, meditation, reflection, and fasting, which then culminates into feasting and celebration for those holy moments of time spent inward with our God.

Can we be full of gratitude this autumn season for all of life's transitional and diverse curves, detours, express lanes, and exits? Sure we can. We are children of a God that is so big that time and space can not physically contain the Great I AM. And yet God is present in all seasons, in all peoples, and in all nations,
at all times.

Rev. Anthony Reese
